Yesterday, our kula gathered as one K-12 Kula in celebration of Ke Aliʻi Pauahi’s legacy and appreciation of her vision in establishing Kamehameha Schools and identifying who these schools were intended to serve through her will in 1883. Princess Pauahi saw firsthand the decimation of her people and had the foresight to recognize that the path for Ka Lāhui Hawaiʻi to not only survive--but thrive—was grounded in education.
