May 23, 2021 · Apple's own 20W charger in the box is also rated at 9V max. Like I said, no trouble using SS charger on the 2018 11" Pro. Inclined to believe it's either the bigger battery in 12.9', newer 2021 tech, or both, led to incompatibility. 9V is limited to 2A or thereabouts though. To get faster charging, you need 15V.
