Games like Killer Instinct are probably more active on console, and the average peaks are likely higher for all other games as well. Killer Instinct is in the unique position of being somewhat active on PC but only on the MS Store version due to that being the only PC version with crossplay, Steam is completely dead.

If you’re casual, the world tour mode is perfect, an offline story with a custom character where you learn from the cast. The game also has two control options for newcomers vs the classic controls. If you want to fight online, this game has the best netcode I have ever seen.

granblue fantasy versus rising. Granblue fantasy versus, easy for begginers, you can play online with the free version that has 3 rotating characters + Gran. I find it to be the most fun fighting game out right now. Blazblue Central Fiction. Under night 2 is one of the best and most technical fighting games out now.

Tekken 7 is my main fighting game and the Steam version is the best version for its netcode and lack of input lag. I really enjoy Fighting EX Layer on Steam for the characters and gameplay, but it's got a pretty small playerbase. Still enjoying it as my favorite 2D fighter at the moment. Apr 10, 2022 · Ultra Street Fighter 4, Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, Ultimate Marvel VS. Capcom 3, and Street Fighter X Tekken (required some tricks to disable gfwl) I’ve been practicing Guilty Gear Strive on it. The d pad works nice but the stick sucks. Usually I’m ok with the sticks.

I play a lot of rivals of aether, and it's awesome to have a moddable smash bros. But I always wonder if there is a more traditional 2D fighting game….

I recently got the steam deck and my first thing was to try tekken, after a little tweak, the game runs on WiFi online no problem with no lag (despite saying I'm in the wrong region). I tried strive and it normally takes 30 seconds to load the title screen however only takes 5 on the steam deck.

Straight up. SFV sold less than 6 million copies in 6 years and it's one of the biggest fighting games. MK11 is the only real anomaly in the FG world, putting up great sales numbers in terms of video games overall. FIFA games sell 10 million copies or better a year.
