Oct 28, 2024 · There is bad news that has been missed in this announcement. The 10-core M4 is a 4 + 6 arrangement with 4 performance and 6 efficiency cores. In the iPad Pro the 9 core model is 3 + 6, excluding one of the performance cores. This means that the 8-core base iMac model could be 2 + 6 instead of 4 + 4.

A few minutes later the product page has been updated showing 16 GB base RAM edit: at 15:11 GMT the iMac tech specs page is showing the M4 configs, but the pre-order button still takes you to the M3 iMac page... sloppy, Apple!
