Adamson House boasts an abundance of Spanish Colonial style features accented by a variety of Moorish elements including pointed arch windows in the dining and living room with the same form repeated in the fireplaces.

Architect Stiles O. Clements designed the beach house for the Adamson family. Construction began in 1929. It took 1½ years to complete the 5,000 square-foot house designed with five bedrooms, each with attached bath and most with fireplaces, plus two servants’ bedrooms.

The Malibu Adamson House Foundation (MAHF) assists California State Parks in preserving and interpreting the historic Adamson property. MAHF members conduct public tours and support ongoing research into the history and culture of the site and the region.

The house, designed by a well-known architect, Stiles Clements, was constructed beginning in 1929, this classic home was built for Rhoda Rindge Adamson and her husband, Merritt Huntley Adamson, daughter and son-in-Iaw of Frederick Hastings Rindge and May Knight Rindge, last owners of the Malibu Spanish Land Grant.
