In the running for Best Adapted Film Screenplay are James Mangold and Jay Cocks for A Complete Unknown, Denis Villeneuve and Jon Spaihts for Dune: Part 2, Richard Linklater and Glen Powell for Hit Man, RaMel Ross and Joslyn Barnes for Nickel Boys and Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox for Wicked.

WGA Awards nominations have been announced with "Challengers," "Civil War," "Hit Man" and "Wicked" among the nominees.

The Writers Guild of America announced its feature-film nominations on Wednesday, furthering the awards-season momentum enjoyed by “ Anora ,” “ Wicked ” and “ A Complete Unknown .” The announcement was delayed a week because of continuing wildfires in Los Angeles.

“Anora,” “A Real Pain,” “A Complete Unknown,” “Wicked” and “Nickel Boys” are among the films that have been nominated by the Writers Guild of America in the feature film category, the WGA West and WGA East announced on Wednesday.

Anora, A Complete Unknown, Challengers, Hit Man, and Wicked are among the 2025 Writers Guild of America Awards nominees. In Best Original Screenplay, Anora and Challengers are up against A Real Pain,
