Amid the ongoing stalemate over change in design of Vande Bharat sleeper trains to be manufactured by a joint venture (JV) firm led by a Russian railway major, a top railway official said all issues have been “resolved”.

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that 22 Vande Bharat train services currently cater to Maharashtra.

India is developing high-speed trains capable of reaching 280 km/h, with the project led by Integral Coach Factory and BEML. The new trains will be designed using advanced technology, building on the success of Vande Bharat trains.

Earlier, some reports quoting officials from the Russian company Transmashholding (TMH) claimed that Indian Railways demanded toilets and a pantry car in the train which necessitated tweaking the trains' design.

Addressing the media on Thursday, Vaishnaw made it clear that there was no issue with the Russian firm Transmashholding (TMH), which has been assigned to producing train sets.
