Indian equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, surged in trade on Wednesday with Republican candidate Donald Trump seen to have an edge over Kamala Harris in US presidential elections.

India's key stock market indices, the Sensex and Nifty 50, saw further gains on November 6, driven by reports of Donald Trump's substantial advantage in the 2024 US election, which enhanced investor sentiment.

As many as 41 out of 50 constituent stocks of Nifty50 ended higher, led by BEL, Adani Enterprises, TCS, HCL Tech, and Wipro

Buying interest in select heavyweights such as Infosys Ltd, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd, Reliance Industries Ltd, HCLTech, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank lifted the indices higher.

Despite opening slightly positive amid mixed global cues, the market quickly turned negative & continued to lose ground throughout the day, ultimately closing near its lowest point

On the 30-share Sensex platform, Adani Ports (3.23 per cent), Reliance (2.77 per cent), Sun Pharma, NTPC, Bajaj Finserv, Tata Motors emerged losers

Sensex jumped over 1,100 points from day’s low and Nifty 50 traded near the 24,200 level on November 5, rebounding from early morning losses.
