Jennifer Lawrence and Malala Yousafzai produced the new documentary 'Bread and Roses' alongside Afghan filmmaker Sahra Mani as "a form of resistance" against the oppressive Taliban regime. The film is now streaming on Apple TV+.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner helped bring the film to life along with director Sahra Mani and producer Jennifer Lawrence.

Bread and Roses', which largely features footage taken in Afghanistan after the Taliban retook control of the country in 2021, is now streaming on Apple TV+

“Bread & Roses,” which follows the lives of three Afghan women in the wake of the Taliban’s return to power, does not communicate these prohibitions in voice-over or title cards. Instead, the director, Sahra Mani, makes the deliberate choice to clear the way for her subjects to reach the audience directly, in their own words.
