Denny Hamlin earned his 55th career NASCAR Cup Series victory, moving into a tie with Rusty Wallace for 11th on the all-time win list in NASCAR’s premier series. With his first victory in just over 10 years at the 0.526-mile oval, Hamlin snapped a 31-race winless skid that dated to April 2024 at Dover.
Denny Hamlin ended his decade-long Martinsville win drought, dominating the Cook Out 400, tying Rusty Wallace for 11th on the all-time win list, and stirring up rivalries.
And the victory at Martinsville (the Virginia track a few hours west of his hometown of Chesterfield, a Richmond suburb) snapped two long droughts for Hamlin — a 31-race skid without a victory and a 10-year winless streak at the 0.526-mile oval where his six wins are more than any active Cup driver.
