A Red Flag Warning​ is back in effect for much of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, as the fire threat remains high.

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning of potential wildfires for the mid-Hudson Valley all day Tuesday, Nov. 12, due to persistent dry, windy conditions in the region. The red flag warning is in effect for Ulster, Dutchess, Orange and Sullivan from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

A Red Flag Warning remains in place Tuesday as brush fires continue to smolder across Massachusetts. Firefighters are on high alert and at the ready to respond to any flare-ups as windy, bone-dry conditions persist.

Although the Red Flag Warning was issued for only Friday, the threat of wildfires across the region will persist until the pattern switches back to wet. As of now, a pattern change does not look likely in the short term.

Record rainless streaks have caused extreme drought conditions and prompted officials to put a statewide ban on open fires.

New York City has issued a red flag warning that will stay in effect until 6 p.m. Friday. A notice on the NotifyNYC social media account says, New Yorkers may see or smell smoke because of multiple wildfires burning in New Jersey.

Massachusetts is under a red flag warning again on Tuesday as dozens of brush fires​ continue burning across the state.

If you see a smokey haze or smell something burning in the air, it’s likely because of wildfires burning in New Jersey. New York City has extended its red flag warning through 6 p.m. Saturday, according to a notice on the NotifyNYC social media account.

A Red Flag Warning has been extended into Wednesday as firefighters across the Commonwealth continue to battle brush fires.

As the drought continues, Red Flag Warnings are in place in parts of New Jersey. The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for Northeastern parts of New Jersey, specifically in the counties bordering New York City.
