PHOENIX — A man is in the hospital after an early morning shooting in Phoenix, according to authorities. The Phoenix Police Department said officers responded to the 2700 block of North Black Canyon Access Road just after 5 a.m., where they found a man who had been shot.

Phoenix police were called to a shooting at the Motel 6 near Interstate 17 and Thomas Road. Officers arrived and found a man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police soon learned that the shooting had occurred at a different location near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road and closed off the area to investigate.
