Hamilton County taxpayers would “kick in” $5M in the effort to attract a NWSL expansion team to Cincinnati under the proposed budget by the Hamilton County administration, according to Scott Wartman of the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER.

WNBA star Caitlin Clark has joined Cincinnati’s bid for a National Women’s Soccer League expansion team. Major League Soccer’s FC Cincinnati heads the group trying to bring a women’s pro team to the city. The club issued a statement confirming that Clark, a rookie for the Indiana Fever this season, had joined in the effort.

National Women's Soccer League commissioner Jessica Berman says she will announce the decision in the “coming weeks”.
