"Jamaat feels the Hindus movement may give space to Awami League and legitimate polls in Bangladesh and they may be banned again," sources said.

The organisation has also issued a statement and called upon the government authorities to promote peaceful coexistence.

Dhaka police arrested a Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari on Monday. Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, a spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote, was detained at Dhaka airport.
