Less than 24 hours after a humbling defeat in the Big Ten tournament championship game, the Maryland men’s lacrosse team began looking ahead to more substantial achievements when the NCAA tournament’s field of 18 was unveiled Sunday night.

Questions surrounded the Terps’ faceoff unit after Luke Wierman, the Terps’ all-time leader in faceoffs, graduated this offseason. It’s become a concern entering May after Maryland shuffled its specialist role this season.

Penn State men’s lacrosse has earned an NCAA tournament berth, marking their third consecutive trip and eighth total in program history. The Nittany Lions earned the fifth seed in the tournament after going 10-4 on the season and 3-2 in conference play.
