Lehigh fans tear down the goalpost at Goodman Stadium to celebrate the football team’s win over Lafayette. They then carried it miles before tossing it in the Lehigh River.

Lehigh football had not had a winning season since 2016. he Mountain Hawks were 4-18 in the seasons before 2024. That all changed this year and they are Patriot League champions. Lehigh beat Lafayette 38-14 on Saturday ot clinch the title and an 8-3 year overall.

The Lehigh University students pulled, yanked and tugged with all their might to topple the goal post at the south end of Goodman Stadium after they watched gleefully as the Mountain Hawks throttled archrival Lafayette 38-13 in the 160th renewal of college football’s most played rivalry Saturday afternoon.
