The Film Federation of India has selected Kiran Rao’s "Laapataa Ladies" ("Lost Ladies") as the official submission to the best international feature film category of the 2025 Academy Awards. The film debuted as a Centrepiece selection at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
