Jake Retzlaff’s Hail Mary looked like it found its target. Needing a final-second touchdown to punch BYU’s ticket to the Big 12 title game, the Cougar quarterback threw a pass into the arms of wide receiver Chase Roberts.

In a bizarre final minute that included a premature field storming by Arizona State fans, the Sun Devils held on to win after stopping a Hail Mary attempt by BYU.

Instead of getting the 28-23 win for No. 21 Arizona State (9-2) against No. 14 BYU (9-2), the clock was deemed to have one second left after a ASU QB Sam Leavitt pass landed out of bounds in the stands to the dismay of all Sun Devil fans.
