Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc crashed out of the Miami Sprint Race before it started, as rain poured onto the track and he lost control during the tire warm-up laps. The early part of Saturday was marked by rainfall, with conditions likely more suitable for wet tires than the intermediate tires on Leclerc's car.

Monegasque man Leclerc was also downbeat. The 27-year-old said he refuses to settle for the situation with Ferrari fourth in the Constructors’ race and already 119 points off leaders McLaren.

Charles Leclerc insists Ferrari’s competitiveness is “not good enough”. Leclerc qualified for the F1 Miami Grand Prix in eighth, while teammate Lewis Hamilton languished in 12th. It represented another drab session for the Ferrari drivers who pre-season hype has yet to become a reality.
