The victim of a shooting that occurred in the Ensley community on Saturday afternoon has been identified, according to the Birmingham Police Department. Officers were called to the 1400 block of 33rd St.

According to police, officers responded to the 1400 block of 33rd St. Ensley at 4:30 p.m. on reports of a person down. When officers got to the location, they entered the backyard of an unoccupied residence and found a ‘young male victim’ unresponsive on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
