Multiple homeowners have raced to relocate their homes farther from the shoreline, often at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Eight homes have fallen into the ocean in Rodanthe, N.C., since 2020, and more in the Outer Banks remain vulnerable to higher tides and looming storms.

The house collapse, which occurred Tuesday afternoon, comes after two other beachfront homes in Rodanthe collapsed within hours of one another Friday.

The ocean claimed yet another beachfront home in the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Tuesday, making it the third house to fall in just five days on what was once the residential street of GA Kohler Court in Rodanthe.
