A new photo book, with an introduction by James Gunn, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the new Superman, out this July.

Cleveland, Ohio, to talk to the cast and crew of the upcoming DC Films release, out July 11. When Superman started kissing the football on a stick, it all clicked together. The day was June 24, 2024 and io9 was in Cleveland to watch the filming of James Gunn’s Superman.

Other famous Jor-Els before Bradley Cooper include David Warner ( Lois & Clark), and one-time James Bond George Lazenby, who played Jor-El in the Superboy TV series in 1990. Terrance Stamp, who played the evil General Zod in Superman II, also ironically, played a hologram of Jor-El in the popular series Smallville.
