A lot has been said about Moore’s Law being dead or slowing down. AI can help deliver the performance increases that are needed with or without it.
Moore's law doesn't describe a natural process. Instead, it is an experience-curve law—a way of putting specifics behind the observation that progress builds on progress.
But the main take away here is that the complexity doubling bit of Moore's Law appears to be alive and well. What will happen on the cost side of the equation, we're rather less optimistic about.
