Minneapolis fire investigators said Monday that an apartment building fire that claimed two lives last summer was intentionally set. The blaze broke out around 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 13 inside the four-story building in the 1500 block of 11th Avenue S.

The Minneapolis apartment fire that claimed two lives in August has been confirmed to be a result of arson, investigators have said, Fire crews responded to the blaze at around 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 13, arriving to find the fire raging inside a four-story apartment complex in the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South.

Along with the two people who died, Minneapolis Fire says four others were hurt and dozens more were forced from their home.

An investigation into the Aug. 13 fire on the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South revealed the cause to be "incendiary/intentional," according to the Minneapolis Fire Department.
