President Donald Trump’s inaugural committee collected a staggering $239 million for the festivities surrounding his swearing-in this year — with some of the nation’s wealthiest people and biggest companies writing large checks as they sought to ingratiate themselves with the Republican ahead of his return to the White House.

A slew of big donations of more than $1 million each led to a record haul for this year’s presidential inauguration fund. Some of the biggest outlays came from the tech, crypto, finance, and auto industries.

President Donald Trump raised a record-shattering $239 million for his inauguration festivities, buoyed by generous donations from large companies. The haul more than doubled his 2017 inauguration record of $107 million. Around 140 different people and companies gave the committee at least a million dollars.
