South Boston state Senator Nick Collins moved to postpone a vote on Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s proposal to temporarily adjust the city’s property tax formula.

Small property owners are urging Massachusetts Senators to reject Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s commercial and residential property tax increase.

Massachusetts senators may get a chance Monday to finally vote on a bill allowing the City of Boston to temporarily reconfigure the way it splits its property taxes between commercial and residential taxpayers.

Wu has said the measure is urgently needed, but a lawmaker who does not represent any part of Boston was able to stop the bill from advancing, at least temporarily.
