Dozens of people have been killed by Israeli strikes in Lebanon this weekend, including 29 who died after an attack flattened a multi-story residential building in central Beirut, according to Lebanese officials.

The strikes, which destroyed an eight-story building and left a crater in the ground, were the fourth in Beirut in less than a week.

Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon have resulted in dozens of deaths in multiple attacks across the country, with 29 fatalities from a single attack in Beirut’s Basta area. Additional strikes in eastern and southern Lebanon have also caused significant casualties.

At least 20 people were killed in a powerful Israeli strike that flattened a multi-storey building in densely populated central Beirut, Lebanese officials said on Saturday, as more deaths were reported from Israeli attacks in eastern Lebanon.

Israel's military says around 250 rockets have been fired by Hezbollah across the border from Lebanon, marking one of the heaviest bombardments of Israel since fighting intensified in September. Several people were injured and buildings damaged in northern and central Israel,
