The Minneapolis City Council on Thursday voted to approve another hefty legal settlement related to ex-police officer Derek Chauvin.

The city of Minneapolis reached a settlement for $600,000 with a woman who accused ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin and his former partner, Ellen Jensen, of using excessive force during an arrest in January of 2020.

Lawsuit claims that four months before George Floyd's murder, officer Derek Chauvin used excessive force and knelt on Patricia Day’s back while she was handcuffed.
