Israel said Sunday that the body of an Israeli-Moldovan rabbi who went missing in the United Arab Emirates has been found after he was killed in what it described as a “heinous antisemitic terror incident.

“The murder of the late Chabad emissary Zvi Kogan in the Emirates is a cowardly and despicable antisemitic act of terror,” Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said on social media after Kogan’s body was discovered. “The State of Israel will not rest nor be silent until those responsible for this criminal act pay for their actions.”

Zvi Kogan was targeted in an “act of antisemitic terrorism,” Israeli authorities said.

Kogan was an emissary of the Chabad Lubavitch movement, a prominent branch of ultra-Orthodox Judaism based in Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood.
