The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District found West Nile virus-positive mosquitoes in Evanston for the first time this year, the City announced in a Friday news release. According to the statement,

Licking County health officials said it's not unexpected to find West Nile virus in the county but still encouraged residents to take precautions.

West Nile virus was detected in mosquitoes in Cheyenne and elsewhere in Laramie County at unusually high levels recently. The virus hasn’t been detected yet this summer in Teton County
