The remainder of Sri Lanka A's tour of Pakistan has been indefinitely postponed due to mass protests in Islamabad by supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), a political party led by former Pakistan captain and prime minister Imran Khan.

Pakistan's claims of successfully organising international cricket in the country suffered a big jolt on Tuesday as the Sri Lanka A team decided not to play the remaining two 50-over matches against Pakistan A due to political unrest in the country's federal capital region.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the postponement of the remaining two one-day matches. This decision was made after discussions with Sri Lanka Cricket.

PCB has postponed the remaining two 50-over matches of the Shaheens-Sri Lanka A series due to political unrest in Islamabad.

This blow to Pakistan has come just months before the highly-anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025 that is scheduled to be held in the country.

Sri Lanka A will return home midway through their Pakistan tour due to escalating political protests in Islamabad, leading to the postponement of the final two 50-over matches.

Pakistan Shaheens were set to face Sri Lanka A in three one-dayers at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. However, due to the political protests in Islamabad, the last two matches have been postponed indefinitely.
