King Charles led the nation in remembering those who lost their lives in two world wars and other conflicts at the Cenotaph in central London. The King laid a wreath at the Cenotaph before overseeing a two-minute silence while joined by veterans of World War II and an assortment of religious and political leaders.

The King, who received a standing ovation and applause upon entering the Royal Albert Hall, sat next to the Princess Royal, with the Queen absent from the Festival and Sunday’s Cenotaph ceremony to ensure she makes a full recovery from a chest infection, and to protect others from any risk.
