The 2024 NCAA Division III football playoffs, an excursion that ends on Jan. 5 with the fabled Stagg Bowl, begins with first-round games this Saturday. Cortland won last year's championship, capturing the first football national title in program history.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – For the first time in six years, John Carroll is back in the Division III football playoffs. The Blue Streaks will host Mount St. Joseph at Don Shula Stadium on Saturday at noon. The winner of that game will face powerhouse Mount Union.

For the third straight year, the Mount St. Joseph University football team will play in the NCAA Division III playoffs. The Lions, 8-2 this season, will play at John Carroll noon Saturday. John Carroll, 8-2 and ranked 24 th in the national D3Football.com poll, is located in University Heights, Ohio, in the Cleveland area.
