Down but apparently never, ever out, the Frost reached the PWHL playoffs for a second consecutive season and will defend their inaugural Walter Cup title after Saturday’s resounding 8-1 victory at Boston.

Jaques added an assist for a game-high three points, and her second goal gave the Frost a 7-0 lead 15:09 into the third period. The Fleet needed just one point to earn their second straight playoff berth, but Minnesota took a 3-0 first period lead on goals by Curl-Salemme, Lee Stecklein and Kendall Coyne Schofield and never looked back.

The PWHL playoffs were set on Sunday and the Minnesota Frost, who snuck into the tournament thanks to back-to-back wins to close the regular season, are the No. 4 seed and will face the second-seeded Toronto Sceptres in the first round.
