Actor Michael Pitt, known for his TV roles on “Boardwalk Empire” and “Dawson’s Creek,” is accused of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend, choking her, and attacking her with a cinder block and a piece of lumber at his New York City home,

"Boardwalk Empire" actor Michael Pitt was arrested and indicted in Brooklyn on Friday on charges of sexual abuse, criminal sex act, assault and strangulation, according to court documents. The actor pleaded not guilty and was released until his next court date in June.

Shortly thereafter, Pitt and Italian filmmaker Asia Argento became engaged after meeting on The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, only to split in 2004 amid reports of creative clashes. From 2004 to 2014, model Jamie Bochert was Pitt’s longest‑standing partner—an engagement he praised as finding “my other half” before their quiet separation.
