Attorneys general in Minnesota and New Jersey sued Glock on Thursday, accusing the company of making handguns that are easily modified to fire as illegal machine guns through a cheap add-on known as a “Glock switch.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison filed a lawsuit Thursday morning against Glock, a firearms manufacturer, over its pistol "switch" conversion capability. The lawsuit claims the gun-maker has known since the 1908s that the firearm's design allowed for easy modifications to function as a fully automatic weapon.

The civil lawsuit claims Glock is in violation of several Minnesota laws and has known for decades their pistols can easily be converted into illegal machine guns, yet did nothing to combat this hazard.
