The New York Knicks made it clear that they won't be pursuing a trade for Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant this offseason, but he reportedly would've welcomed the opportunity to be shipped to the Big Apple.

The New York Knicks head into the offseason with relative uncertainty, despite having one of their best seasons in recent memory. For the first time in 25 years, the Knicks advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals and were even favored to make the NBA Finals after defeating their rival and the defending champion Boston Celtics.

Instead, they may make a run at Kevin Durant, with ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Tim Bontemps calling the Clippers a “team to watch” in the Durant sweepstakes. It’s an interesting idea: A Durant, Harden, Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac core could be very interesting, if it can stay healthy.
