Chennai is on high alert as Cyclone Fengal, a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, intensifies, bringing heavy rainfall to parts of Tamil Nadu.

Cyclone Fengal, intensifying over the Bay of Bengal, is likely to make landfall in Tamil Nadu on November 30. The Indian Navy is preparing relief efforts as Yellow and Orange alerts have been issued.

Most importantly IMD stated that there is a possibility of marginal intensification of the deep depression into a cyclonic storm.

Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Pudukkottai districts.

Cyclone Fengal continues to affect several districts in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, and Tiruvallur. Authorities have closed schools and colleges in these areas as a safety measure. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an advisory and continues to provide updates through its official channels.
