The 25th Hornbill Festival commenced in Kisama village with a display of Naga culture, coinciding with Nagaland Statehood Day. International collaborations include Japan, the USA, the UK, Peru, and Bulgaria.

Hornbill is a 10 day long festival in Nagaland which brings together all generations from 17 different tribes to showcase their culture. The festival happens in Naga heritage village in Kisama where tribal groups perform dances, sports unique to their tribe.

Out of the districts, Kohima houses the Naga Heritage Village at Kisama—the site of the Hornbill Festival. Nagaland’s headliner event is in its 25th edition this year and features arts, culture, and events from at least 18 tribes in the state.

The Hornbill Festival, celebrated annually in the first week of December, has emerged as a cultural masterpiece that brings together the vibrant diversity of Nagaland’s 16 tribes. Conceptualized as a modern-day platform to showcase both traditional and contemporary aspects of Naga culture,
