A group of Ames residents gathered Thursday, July 17 in Ames as part of the nationwide 'Good Trouble Lives On' protests in honor of John Lewis.

More than 200 rallied in Fort Myers to honor John Lewis and protest what they see as threats to civil and human rights.

Hundreds of rallies played out across the nation Thursday for the "Good Trouble Lives On" National Day of Action. "We're out here to try and increase awareness, get more public and civic involvement in some of the concerns a lot of people have in what's going on in our federal government,

It is the latest in coordinated protests against the policies of the Trump administration

Protests and events against President Donald Trump’s controversial policies were held at more than 1,600 locations around the country Thursday. The “Good Trouble Lives On” national day of action was held in honor of the late Congressman John Lewis.

Organizers will call for passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and other voting rights legislation.
