Birmingham-Southern College will be looking for new potential buyers after the purchase agreement between BSC and Miles College expired Monday afternoon.

The Miles College purchase agreement for Birmingham-Southern College ended Monday, according to a news release from BSC. The deal ended at 3 p.m. after three extension requests from Miles, according to BSC. The college is valued at $65 million.

The expected sale of Birmingham-Southern College to Miles College will not happen. According to a news release dated Nov. 25, the purchase agreement between the two schools expired at 3 p.m. BSC stated the owners have been working with Miles to complete the sale, even after Miles had requested a deadline extension to close on the deal.

BSC ceased all operations on May 31 of this year following an 18-month effort to obtain bridge funding from a $30 million state loan program. Miles College originally filed a letter of intent to purchase the campus in June.
