Friends of Big Bear Valley announced the news on Facebook on Monday with a clip from the live camera feed at the nest perched on a tree in Southern California's San Bernardino County. The nonprofit has been monitoring the eaglets, named Sunny and Gizmo, since they hatched in early March.

One of the Big Bear eaglets, Sunny, flew the nest for the first time, thrilling fans of the live webcam that monitors the family of eagles that includes mom Jackie, dad Shadow and sibling Gizmo.

One of the beloved Big Bear eaglets returned to the nest Tuesday morning after nearly a day after taking her first flight. Sunny flapped her wings back home at around 11:30 a.m. as Jackie and Shadow, the eagle parents, brought home a chunk of fish for Gizmo, another eaglet who has yet to fledge.
