As violence escalates in the Middle East, U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-New Hampshire, is pressing the defense secretary on the situation.

The Department of Homeland Security revealed Wednesday morning that Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) contacted the TSA about her husband, William “Billy” Shaheen, being subjected to enhanced screening.

DHS said that U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen reached out to TSA, her husband was removed from the watch list. Stefany Shaheen said her mother's actions were not an abuse of power.

Sen. Shaheen’s office said his travelling companion during the flights was also Arab-American. CBS News reported that unidentified person was removed from the TSA watch list two years ago.

Sen. Shaheen, the top Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee and a frequent critic of Mr. Trump and his policies, has announced she will not seek reelection in 2026.
