The Rev. Richard Hudak, pastor of St. Margaret Mary the past 11 years, said in a written statement, “St. Margaret Mary Alacoque had a great devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the “Apostle of the Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus,” was the first to promulgate this devotion. Our Lord appeared to her on Dec. 27, 1673.

The community is a pilgrimage site for the relics of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a nun in the convent there to whom Jesus revealed his sacred heart in 1671.
