On Thursday at 2:46 p.m. an updated coastal flood warning was issued by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC valid from Friday 3 a.m. until Saturday 10 a.m.

A weather alert issued by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC on Thursday at 9:31 p.m. is warning residents of strong thunderstorms until 10:15 p.m. The alert is for Inland Onslow and Coastal Onslow as well as Duplin and Jones counties.

A slug of moisture that impacted the Gulf Coast with Tornado Warnings and flash flooding is expected to cause heavy rainfall across the eastern Carolinas. Expected rainfall totals could approach an inch along the I-40 corridor and 2-4 inches along the Outer Banks.

The NWS Newport/Morehead City NC issued a coastal flood watch at 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday valid from Friday 1 a.m. until Saturday 10 a.m. The watch is for Northern Outer Banks, Ocracoke Island and Hatteras Island.

On Thursday at 7:29 a.m. a coastal flood advisory was issued by the NWS Wilmington NC. The advisory is for Coastal Pender, Coastal New Hanover and Coastal Brunswick.

On Thursday at 1:59 p.m. the NWS Wakefield VA issued a wind advisory valid for Friday between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. The advisory is for Western Currituck, Eastern Currituck, Norfolk/Portsmouth and Virginia Beach.
