Moore's law doesn't describe a natural process. Instead, it is an experience-curve law—a way of putting specifics behind the observation that progress builds on progress.
But the main take away here is that the complexity doubling bit of Moore's Law appears to be alive and well. What will happen on the cost side of the equation, we're rather less optimistic about.
