It has been identified as giant isopod - a group of animals that also includes woodlice. It has been named Bathynomus vaderi - as its head looks like the helmet of Star Wars ' Darth Vader.
They had procured four specimens of these giant isopods from Quy Nhơn City. After thorough examination and research, they discovered in early 2023 that they were dealing with an unrecorded species.
