The Dallas Mavericks started the first night of a back-to-back at home against the short-handed Orlando Magic, who were playing without their rising star Paolo Banchero. With him out of the lineup, Dallas didn't have many excuses to drop this game and needed a win following their disappointing loss to the Houston Rockets on Halloween night.

Doncic awoke from his offensive slumber by scoring 25 of his game-high 32 points in the first half, which helped the Mavericks (4-2) cruise to a 108-85 win Sunday over the Magic (3-4), who played without Paolo Banchero.

Doncic started grabbing at his leg during a Mavericks possession and wasn't able to run back down the court on defense. After a Wolves turnover, he made a layup off an outlet pass, but remained on that end of the court and started limping toward the locker room at the next dead ball. Doncic eventually needed assistance leaving the court.

One game hardly constitutes a sample size, but Thursday night’s win bodes well for a Mavericks team that reached the NBA finals last season.
