Texans running back Joe Mixon is dealing with an ankle injury heading into Saturday’s contest against the Kansas City Chiefs.

If the Texans are going to take out the Chiefs, they need running back Joe Mixon to take it up a notch. That might be a challenge. He’s questionable for Saturday’s game with an ankle injury. The injury apparently happened at practice on Wednesday, since he wasn’t on Tuesday’s report. And he didn’t practice at all on Thursday.

Texans offensive guards Juice Scruggs and Shaq Mason practiced for the second day in a row. Scruggs is listed with an ankle injury. Mason has returned from a Grade 2 sprained medial collateral ligament suffered last month against the Chiefs. Scruggs ran with the first-team offense Wednesday.

Houston linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee), right guard Shaq Mason (knee), offensive lineman Juice Scruggs (ankle) and wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) also were active. Woods did not practice all week and had been listed as questionable.
