It's highly unlikely that either player made the decision with entirely magnanimous motivations. The Dolphins cut ties with Raheem Mostert, Kendall Fuller, and Durham Smythe to save salary cap space, and may have been ready to part with Armstead and/or Chubb too. Regardless, both could've tested free agency, but chose to take less to stay in Miami.
